JUNE 7, DHADING. Two persons have gone missing after a tanker carrying milk plunged into Trishuli river at Jogimara VDC along the Prithvi Highway last night.
Tanker driver Chhatra Bahadur Thapa of Sarlahi and another person, whose identity has not been ascertained, have gone missing after the tanker with yellow plate (Ga 1 Gha 544) heading towards Kathmandu from Butwal carrying milk plunged some 65 meters into the river from the road at midnight, according to the Area Police Office, Gajuri.
Traffic police personnel Dhirendra Bista, said that Prakash Poudel, helper of the tanker, was rescued unharmed.
Sub Inspector at the Police Post, Majhimtar, Bal Krishna Bhattarai, said that helper of the tanker, Prakash Poudel, there were three persons in the tanker.
Passengers of other vehicles informed police about the incident by making a phone call to police control.
Kayaker of the local Royal Beech Camp, Deepak Maharjan, and police personnel rescued Poudel safely from the river at 2:00 am, said Bhattarai. Poudel has been admitted to Star Hospital, Kathmandu.
Security personnel and locals have started search operation for the missing from this morning. RSS
