Biratnagar is Second Largest City of Nepal

Biratnagar is a Second Largest city of Nepal. It is sub metropolitan city of Nepal. It is situated in southern east of Nepal. The southern border of the city is Jogbani of India. Jogbani is the main market for Biratnagar because most of the commodities and clothes are traded in Jogbani and brought to the city. So, all people are dependent to the India product in the city. Due to the open border of India and 

Nepal in south of city more final consumer have been benefited since long time ago. The meaning of Biratnagar is "birat" means 'large' and "nagar" means a City. It is also known as the home towns of popular political leaders. It is one of the most developed cities of Nepal. In the city there are numbers of industries for producing consumer goods. Most of products are produced in export quality. The first sugar industry of Nepal is also located in Biratnagar. Numbers of local forces are benefited from the industry. Local labor forces are also benefited from the industry directly by getting chance to work in the factory. It is playing the major role to increase the income level of local people and increasing their living standard. Another pioneer jute mill is also situated in the Biratnagar.

Likewise there number of soap industries, biscuits industries, garments which is exported to the leading countries in the world like America, Australia and other developed countries, steel industries and other major industries are playing the direct and indirect role to provide the opportunities to the employee, consumer and entrepreneurs.

In the context of health, there is a zonal hospital called Koshi Zonal Hospital. It is a government hospital providing health services to the lower level people. Most of the patients from eastern region go to the hospital to take the reliable and better health service. Another Global Hospital and Research Center affiliated to Purbanchal University is also situated in the city.
